Tempe Union Composite Mountain Bike Team consists of 6th-12th grade students attending a school within the Tempe Union High School District boundaries. Our goal is to foster a love of riding amongst youth to build strong bodies, sharper minds, and unbreakable characters.

Riding mountain bikes with teammates and coaches is a tremendous amount of fun! We inspire friendships, joy and adventure every time we hit the trails.

SAFETY

SAFETY

While there is an inherent risk in mountain biking, the team takes all reasonable precautions to provide a safe environment for riders to build their skills and fitness. Trail selection, ride speed and ride durations are all adjusted to the skills of each group.

TEAMWORK

TEAMWORK

We support all of our teammates at races and during team rides. While mountain biking may seem like an individual sport, the experience is enriched with a team. The opportunity to meet new people and build friendships by riding together is one of the lasting benefits of participating in the team.

We expect consideration for all others, oneself and the outdoors. Teammates, competitors, coaches, ACA Officials, trail users and the trails themselves will be treated with the utmost respect and appreciation.

We strive to be positive community members. We unite diverse people, families and communities through cycling by creating fun and welcoming experiences. We acknowledge that many of our team activities are conducted in an open setting on public use trails. We are members of the community that all share the trails together.

No, participating in races is not required.

  • A Bike, helmet, closed toed shoes, and water are all that is absolutely required of student-athletes. Gloves and sunglasses are highly recommended.
  • While not required, other gear for on-the-trail bike repairs might include a multi-tool, tire levers, patch kit, spare tube, mini pump or CO2 inflator, chain quick links, zip ties or duct tape.

TUC mountain bike team is open to riders of all ability levels. Whether you're a seasoned trailblazer or a complete beginner, you're welcome to join us in the adventure!

No experience is required, but training and certification through ACA are required. Click here for more information.

  3. Confirm your invite to TeamSnap for the 2024 season.

We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Click here to make a tax-deductible donation. 

With your help, we can provide:
Supplies and repair needs for student-athletes including tires, tubes, Co2, chain lube, and other equipment and materials necessary to keep athletes on their bikes. Race Day supplies such as food, drinks, canopies, chairs, etc. Registration fee waivers and scholarships for students in need SWAG for student athletes Team Activities that promote our team community and spirit.
